What motivated you to join our team?

I’ve always been interested in healthcare, especially in finding ways to improve both the physical and mental well-being of others. I studied medicine, and in caregiving, I found exactly what I was looking for. It brings me great joy to spread positivity and actively seek solutions that help improve my clients’ condition.

What do you enjoy most about working with our clients or within our company?

Every day of caregiving is unique and special, but the greatest joy for me was witnessing a client gradually recover from a semi-comatose state to a level of functional independence.

I once had a client who had been in a serious car accident and believed he would never walk again or have any future. After a month of intensive training at a fitness center, in cooperation with a physiotherapist and myself, he began to see real progress—much to his surprise. He was eventually able to walk a certain distance on his own using a special walker, gradually increasing the distance over time. We were all truly happy, and at that moment, we knew we had achieved something really special.

I remember all the clients I cared for with great fondness. One that stayed with me the most was a client recovering from a stroke—an incredibly meaningful and demanding experience, filled with both joys and challenges, through which I gained valuable experience. I also fondly recall a client with a complex medical condition and an inspiring amount of optimism, which I still admire to this day. I’m grateful to her not only for helping me improve my Dutch, but also for the unforgettable experience of working on a farm with animals.

As a caregiver, each day brings the opportunity to make a meaningful difference—not only in the lives of the people you care for, but also in the lives of their families and the wider community. Some days can be challenging, but overcoming those challenges is what makes this work so fulfilling. The ability to brighten the day of someone vulnerable has a real and lasting impact on my life.

I am currently working in the Netherlands, which is a new country for me and one that offers a wide range of work and study opportunities—even though I already belong to what is often called the “third generation.” Learning the Dutch language is a new and exciting challenge for me.

My coordinator not only assists me with my client, but also helps me access the right treatment and medication for my own health issues—which can be challenging in a foreign country.
